About Me.

Lenin Izquierdo (ees- kyehr- doh) is an Afro-Latino actor born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. Lenin began his acting journey in his high school years, when he joined his school theatre program in his sophomore year. Convinced he wanted to pursue a culinary degree and career in the Navy, his love and passion for acting and storytelling came as a pleasant surprise. Since then, Lenin has gone on to pursue a career in Acting which has led him to working towards his BFA in Acting degree at The University of Michigan. In the years since he began performing, Lenin has always maintained the same goal: approach every project with a love for others, a love for himself, and a love for storytelling.

Mission Statement.

Continue to do challenging and insightful work as an actor in film, television, and theatre while maintaining a well-rounded and sustainable life outside of my career field.

Deliverables.

Lenin Izquierdo is an actor with experience in film, theatre, and improvisation. If hired, Lenin will approach the work with passion, enthusiasm, and curiosity. Lenin will bring a positive attitude, a great spirit, and a willingness to take risks in the room. His ability to find play in the work creates and welcomes an environment that encourages everyone to work with a sense of selflessness and play.

Lenin Izquierdo’s Angel Cruz is incendiary on stage, moving effortlessly between anger, fear, guilt, and sorrow, and occasionally humor (he’s got sharp comic timing) sometimes within the same scene. Izquierdo has an astonishingly expressive face and handles his character with a confidence that belies his youth. Even more impressive, Guirgis’ polemical arguments sound entirely natural coming from Angel here, something I’ve never encountered in any other production. His performance even overcomes a rubbish and entirely unnecessary bit of stagecraft involving a fog machine at the end. I’ve never watched this actor perform before and I hope to see him on stage more often in the future.” - C.J. Fernandes
